FAQ: Why should I not install both the Host and Containerized Agents on the same instance?

When installing the F5 Distributed Cloud App Infrastructure Protection (AIP) Agent, you choose between a Host or Containerized Agent. If you're unsure which to choose, see FAQ: What is the difference between the Host and Containerized Agents?.

There are a few reasons why you should not deploy both a Host and Containerized Agent on the same instance:

  • They both use the same audit socket, which will cause conflict
  • It is redundant
  • There is no additional coverage

If you experience any issues while installing an Agent, please contact aipsupport@f5.com.
